An Iterative Ray Tracing Algorithm to Increase Simulation Speed While Maintaining Overall Precision

Ray tracing is a frequently used method for acoustic simulations, valued its calculation speed and ease of use. Although it fast, there are no fully ray tracing-based real-time simulation methods or engines. Under restrictions, simulations lose precision the variance inherent in random has too much impact on outcome. In this paper, an algorithm called iterative presented that reduces negative effects restrictions by iteratively improving initial increasing over time. addition, new estimates expected value to show iteration steps reduce variance, while maintaining value. Simulations using compared measurements classical method, shown can be improve more testing needed, extend most algorithms, order decrease adverse restrictions.
